I love.
I love sitting in Starbucks. I love it even more when I see an old lady sit across from me and her trailing husband bringing a caramel frappuccino and drip coffee to the table.

Pessimism
As pessimistic as I am, God never fails to show His perfect faith. Of all places, riding in the shuttle from the parking structure to the airport, I am silently rebuked. Of all people, the shuttle driver is playing 95.9 The Fish as he quietly shuttles us off to our flight. The perfect amount of God’s “ah hah!” at the perfect time.

Osama
So this story has been on the news for the past few days (obviously). Unless you’ve been living in a cave (like Osama presumably was), you know that US forces took out Osama Bin Laden late last weekend. Sure, there’s been a fanfare of “LETS GO AMERICA!” throughout Facebook and Reddit type forums - we’ve even gotten a few pro Obama graphics:

My gut reaction was to queue the Team America theme song that reads “America, f*ck yeah, come to save the mother f*cking world,” but something doesn’t seem right. It was funny and “amazing” the first few days… but I just can’t help but feel like there is something wrong about celebrating a death, a kill, a “frag.”
Maybe I’m just un-American.

Kitchen
So last night I got a chance to stop by the grocery store which allowed me to do some late night cooking. I realized that a large part of why I’ve been gaining weight is because I eat almost all my meals from restaurants! One of my favorite things to do is to blast music and cook.. unfortunately it was close to midnight so the music part had to be toned down a bit.
I made:
Grilled chicken breast strips with Mesquite dry rub
Tuna salad
Now you may be saying… tuna salad? What so special about that? I’ve often shared this recipe with friends who are trying to stay fit and I get a consistent “eww” as a reaction. My tuna salad is made with nonfat no sugar added plain yogurt as a substitute for mayonnaise. Last night… I threw in some celery, onion, bell pepper, a good sized pinch of salt and black pepper… and it tastes great! No guilt either. If you’re brave enough… throw in some raisins, apple, and cayenne for some bite. I promise that you will not be disappointed.
